Product person, author (in the making) and co-host of the Product Group London.
The product person
Asomi Ithia has worked in product management and product marketing in small and large organisations including Barclays, BT, 02, Sky & Thomson Reuters. He has worked across all stages of the product life cycle using a range of techniques to understand customer needs and deliver products – along the way he has experienced many ups and downs and never stopped learning.
Asomi tries to take a straight-talking and pragmatic approach that sees past product management buzz words and is focused on the core essence of getting the job done. For him successful product management is about having a range of tools and techniques and being able to apply these at the right moments to get the job done – something he has seen in many great product managers. Not only this, he is passionate about ensuring that product people have knowledge of the many areas and teams in the business that they impact and impact them.
The author
In writing the books, Asomi cites speaking to over 50 product people (across 200+ hours of interviews (or chats)) as one of the most interesting and insightful aspects of this project. This and the process of writing 4 books has been an immensely valuable (and at times head banging) exercise and he hopes you find value in its outputs – once you’ve had a read, let me know what you think.
The Product Group London
Asomi also co-hosts a product meet-up, in London, called The Product Group – a lively discussion lead meet-up, where attendees get involved in discussing the topic of the night and questioning the guest speaker. Come along and get involved.
The next steps
Now the books are finished I feel a bit freer, so get in touch if you’d like to chat or if you’d like to work together (I also consult and welcome offers).
If you like what you’ve read, I’m also available to come to your organisation and talk about product management.
